![]() You can't see this happening like the GRAW map pack that literally split the userbase? You can't see them charging $40 or whatever and then forcing you to pay more for the "real" ending? You guys really can't see someone buying the DLC and then wanting to trade in the game? You really think this never happens? This really hurts resale value since you can only resell part of your expense so if it's $30 base with $30 DLC you can now only resale $30 of your $60 and below the original $30 so you lose at least 2/3 of your money spent just on that fact. Even if it's on disk but locked, you need their magical key to unlock. If it's DLC rather than on the disk and they no longer have the servers up you can no longer access your data that you paid for. There are hardly any sales on DLC/digital downloads on consoles so waiting for price drops become much less of a reality than they are now. Ignoring all the downsides and acting like companies are willing to skip profits to watch over us and make us happy doesn't make for interesting discussion either. There isn't a single million seller on either console that doesn't have either a) Single player DLC, b) Multiplayer, c) Alternate single player modes that could have been monetized as DLC.Īctually, that's a lie, both AssCreed 1 and BioShock lack these things although they did add DLC to both AssCreed 2 and BioShock 2, and they're adding online multiplayer to AssCreed 2.5. ![]() In fact, let me pull every single PS360 million seller (that we know about, naturally we don't have full numbers, yadda yadda no NPD leaks, yadda yadda) ![]() On a go-forward basis, a very small percentage of games will be single player only. ![]()
